Being a Love-Fueled Christian

Love Fueled Christian

What is a love-fueled Christian? What does it mean to be loved-fueled?  God is love and being fueled by that love causes us to look and act like our Example who came to this earth, the Lord Jesus Christ. Being a love-fueled Christian is being a Christ-filled Christian. We have many Christians who know about Christ, but very few that express to a hurting world His very essence and nature. There is a great need at this hour and in this generation for the Lord to raise up love-fueled Christians.

How do you get and stay loved-fueled? This stressed-hurry up world knows nothing of the love-fueled life. I am not saying that you have to have perfect circumstances to live the love-fueled life, but being loved-fueled requires a continual nonstop connection to the Source. Love-fueled people are “tethered” to the King. Unlike an automobile we don’t just go to a location for a fill up when we are getting close to empty.

How do you become a love-fueled Christian? We go to Him. We go to Christ. He is not far away, but He abides in our hearts. We have a daily living relationship with Him. It is a beautiful thing being a friend and a son of God. We know His voice and as time has progressed, we have matured and know His ways. Because He perpetually fills us, we can go out and love like He does.

1 Cor 13:4-7 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. NKJV

To be love-fueled we must spend time with the Lord. We hear and know His heartbeat from spending time with Him. I am not talking about services or meetings. I am not just talking about reading the Bible and praying. I am talking about abiding in Him. I am talking about being surrounded with and aware of His presence 24/7. We hear the voice of the Holy Spirit and talk with Him as you would talk to someone you really love. My friend Sam Hinn said to me “Jose, in Benny’s ministry I came in contact with many great men of God.” We will never be changed in the presence of men, only In His presence are we ever changed.” This is so true! As we spend time with Him, we learn what He likes and what needs to be changed in us. Slowly, in His presence, we become more like Him. The more we are like Him, the greater the impact and transformation we provide to those around us.

Depending on the work of the Lord, we need to stay engaged and we need to continue to fill up regularly. Some ministry is very difficult, and it just drains you. Being around love-fueled people helps with this because we have greater strength and impact together.

When a Christian is love-fueled, they lead with love. Christ leads us to care first and foremost. The Religious System always leads with its agenda, but we are not of that Spirit. We belong to the One who fed the hungry multitudes and stopped and spent time with the insignificant of society. We incarnate the words, “For God so loved the world,” when our Father was moved to send the Son. We likewise are moved to act, to love, and care for others in His place, on earth as it is in Heaven.

A Love-Fueled Christian always:

  1. Trust the Lord in others – We are not the Holy Spirit.
  2. Practices acceptance – We are not their Judge.
  3. Listen to the Lord for others- We give from what we have received.
  4. Communicate openly – We have nothing to hide- No agendas.
  5. Is Selfless, Always willing and ready to invest time, attention, and resources in others.
  6. Maintains patient endurance- We believe against all we see.
  7. Point them to Christ not ourselves- There is only One Savior!
  8. Keeps short accounts- Prays for the strength to forgive and forget.

Having love as a fuel we have no agendas. We are not led by anything else than the very compassion of Christ for others. We just bring the love and we expect nothing in return. The results belong to the Lord, so we are free to continue to love even when we face rejection. Christ’s Love through us is never wasted! My friend Jay Ferris said, “Love is the medium of exchange in the economy of God.”

Gal 6:1-3 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. NKJV

Will you enter another’s world and instead of giving them a sermon, will you just sit with them and have compassion on them? Love-fueled people do! They know people are tired of words and are looking for action. Sometimes the greatest thing you can do is sit alongside a brother or a sister as they go through their valley of suffering. St. Francis reportedly said, “Preach Jesus, and if necessary, use words.” While He didn’t say those exact words, he did warn the Church leaders that their words must match their deeds. Sometimes I wonder what the Lord thinks of all the back and forth bantering of bible verses on social media with so little spiritual life behind them. Love-fueled people let their actions speak for them as to what they believe. You don’t need to ask them; just watch them daily.

What I am talking about may sound so simple that it might be dismissed by Christians looking for the “Deep things of God.” Just like breathing, it requires work, but we can learn do it without thinking about it. This is the same in the love-fueled life. It is no longer work when it brings you everlasting joy!

If you are a love-fueled Christian, you know Father God’s heartbeat. You know He weeps for His Church. Most believers have never been love-fueled. They think that memorizing bible verses is what brings success in the Christian life. Many have been confused into getting just enough love to get by for their personal needs on a weekly basis. They are not others-conscious.

We are living in the most informed & connected society to date, but they are also the loneliest. Only believers walking in the love of Christ can get past all the “pomp and circumstance” and into the hearts of this generation. It will take being love-fueled to be patient with those coming home, wounded by this selfish generation. We must walk in love to be trusted by them. Only Christ in us is the hope for this generation.

I can’t emphasize enough how badly we need love-fueled Christians. May the Lord lead you to be His example here on earth. May the Holy Spirit give you the wisdom to break out and away from the traditions of men and the snare of the religious system while at the same time remembering to love them too.

I invite you to come and experience the joy awaiting the life of every love fueled Christian!

Much love,

Jose L. Bosque

  1. Very good words brother. We cannot love unless we are “feasting” on Jesus. As I go deeper, I more understand one of the primary aspects of Gods eternal purpose is how the body feeds one another through love. When Christ is shared in the body, it’s members find spiritual food and drink through selfless love, Literally, when we love, we are “feasting on the body of Christ”. Unless you eat up my flesh and drink of my blood, we have no life in you.
Love and blessings to you my brother.
